Hersh's life story in video

After several months of rummaging through photographs, audio interviews, video and anything related, I am happy to announce; 'The Story of Hersh Zvi Makowski'.

Shortly after Hersh his unfortunate passing in June, I promised myself to create some sort of a tribute to him in the form of a DVD. I kept thinking of it and started gathering material together.

In my time with him I often recorded our talks/interviews on a audiorecorder, beacuse I was still getting his story together for my first book. Also I had filmed him sometimes because Hersh and me had discussed earlier making a video about his life.

The process really started moving forward when a family member (Scott Israel) linked me to some Youtube videos which was posted privately and contained interviews with not only Hersh but also his sister Genia. This was a revelation for me since I only ever knew her from photographs, yet here I suddenly see a younger Hersh and Genia talking about their story together.

I used some segments of that video combined with any other videos I had myself and could find about related topics and would fit well within his story.

In the end I pulled it off and put the whole thing together on my laptop with limited software, but I am happy with the result. I made about 5 or 6 copies and sent them to the family.

Plan is I will have a showing of the 85 min. movie at Chai Point Senior Living in Milwaukee, early 2016.

Perhaps February or March.
